I have seen so many TikTok videos praising Colleen Hoover’s It ends with us. I finally made up my mind last week to read the book. And I must admit, the book truly lives up to the hype.

This entry is not a review of the book. I will only tell you how I feel about it, spoiler-free. It ends with us is one of the most potent, raw, honest, inspiring, and touching books I have ever read. I came to the book expecting to see beautiful and moving love stories, but when I closed the book, I left with something more profound and meaningful. This is the kind of book I want to give to every woman on this planet. No, not just women. Men, too, should read this book.
It's a story about unbreakable love and finding the courage to make the right decision in the most challenging circumstances. I always find the protagonist of every story irritating, but Lily Bloom of It ends with us is not the case. I’m so freaking proud of her. So FREAKING PROUD. Throughout this narrative, her tenacity and conviction transformed her into a heroine I'd want every girl and woman to read about, admire and follow. She was as human and vulnerable as the rest of us, yet the strength with which she took charge of her life was inspiring on so many levels.
This novel has a profound message that is woven gradually from the beginning. These significant moments start in the first chapter, but I don't realize how crucial each of these times is until I continue reading. As I go on, these story pieces come together to build a scenario that portrays a very contemporary topic in such a raw, honest way.
If you come to this book for some romance, then yes, you’ll have it, but it’s not the book's central theme. Maybe that’s why I like it so much. It steps out of the comfort zone of its genre to discuss something more severe and more alarming. Not every romance book has to be only about love, it can be so much more.
When I first heard about this book, one of the things that intrigued my interest was the title. And there's a specific moment in the novel where the title is echoed that had such a significant effect on me as I read it. I gasped. I literally gasped when I read that moment. Yes, the title is truly perfect.
I read this book on my Kindle and listen to it on Audible simultaneously because my short-sighted situation is getting worse. But now, I want to purchase a physical book so I can relive this beautiful story a second time.
Colleen Hoover, I think you have just changed my life. Not only because of your story, your book but the way you tell your story refills me with desire and passion to finish a book of my own after so many years of procrastination. I will finish writing a book in 2022. If I ever get published, I will send the first copy to her and tell her all about it.
